COMMERCIAL DESIGN

THE ROAST HOUSE 

This is a group project that will be focusing on designing and building detailed planning at the provided site. The aim is to propose an interior utilization concept for a 4 storey building located at 11, Jalan Sultan, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Introducing history and reminding people of what coffee tastes like in the olden days, and how snacks and treats resemble in childhood. Malaysians love their coffee. Kopitiam, the coffee shops, often run by descendants of Chinese immigrants, is where the locals like spending their time. Other than that, bringing in old traditional snacks is to jog back people’s memories of their childhood, bringing them down memory lane and also to boost tourists interest in traditional Malaysians’ treats.

(a) To preserve the traditional value of Malaysia roasted coffee and childhood snacks.  

(b) To promote old traditional coffee, treats and snacks can resemble people’s memories of their childhood. 

(c) To promote interaction between customer through coffee showcase, and mini gallery of how coffee is made in the older period and also traditional product and food of Malaysia.

Concept aims to bring people down memory lane, by using the things to link back to their own personal memory. Hence, the overall idea is based on link and connections. Concept of radial and rhythmethic of concept memory is catching the tastes of coffee aroma. Flow of the coffee aroma bringing the concept of enjoyment and memory through the framing form.

THE ROAST HOUSE has been transformed and be designed with Concept of radial and rhythm ethic of concept memory is catching the tastes of coffee aroma. Flow of the coffee aroma bringing the concept of enjoyment and memory through the framing form. The concept aims to bring people down memory lane, by using the things to link back to their own personal memory. Hence, the overall idea is based on link and connections.

On the 1st floor and 2nd floor, dining area and self brewing workshop are finely provided and arranged to fulfil the requirement for customer. There are merchandise display located in the middle of the space which makes more convenience for the customers. Some waiting area and sitting area are also available on every floor for customers, staff room and storage are also located on every floor to accommodate and suits in the basic necessities of workers. 

Traditional Mini Market are located on the 3rd floor, it offer customer to grab some Malaysia Traditional snack and item. The Traditional Mini Market artistic features create a old classical atmosphere for visitors and customers.
